October is shaping up to be a collaborative month for us here at Decent! We’re super pumped to announce that we’ve partnered with Member Benefits, administrator of the Texas Bar Private Insurance Exchange. The exchange serves the State Bar of Texas, which has more than 95,000 members, many of whom are considered self-employed or sole proprietors. This means we’ve added our plans to their online exchange, giving independent attorneys in Texas access to affordable, comprehensive health insurance. This partnership program officially launched last month in the Austin area and is expanding to other areas of the state moving forward. Get. Excited.
This is an important partnership. The Texas Bar Private Insurance Exchange is an independent health insurance marketplace designed for State Bar of Texas members, their staff and dependents. It’s how people who practice law in Texas find coverage for themselves, their employees, and their families. This collaboration means these individuals will be able to access Decent health plans through the exchange at a discounted rate.
Decent saw this partnership as a major opportunity to help another self-employed segment of the Austin work force. Independent lawyers are not immune from the challenges that other self-employed people face, including finding a solid health insurance plan. People who freelance or work for themselves often get the short end of the stick when it comes to health plans, either sacrificing coverage, fair pricing, or both. Decent’s goal is to simplify health insurance shopping for this segment by eliminating the need to choose between great coverage and great prices. Instead, Decent has created plans specifically designed for the self-employed. By partnering with groups like Member Benefits, Decent is able to support these independent communities.
In addition to premiums that are well below market and coverage that exceeds many comparable plans, Decent offers its members special benefits that you’ll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. For starters, those interested can enroll year-round. Whether you’re looking to switch health plans due to dissatisfaction or because you’re facing a significant life change, Decent allows you to enroll in one of our plans any day of the year.
Our premiums are incredibly (and fairly) priced for the self-employed market. Our premiums are up to 50% below market rate for comparable plans and they offer unlimited free primary care with a family medicine doctor. Decent understands the challenges self-employed people face and has molded health plans just for them. Better yet, all of our health plans are compliant with the federal health law (Affordable Care Act).
If you’re in Austin and part of the self-employed workforce, you can’t go wrong. Give us a shot by getting your free quote today.
